The availability of Bresson films on VHS

The North Americas (NTSC)
The quality of all of the films are about average for VHS, perfectly
watchable, but far from ideal.
In print:
- Les Dames du Bois de Boulogne, Home Vision Entertainment

- Pickpocket, New Yorker Video
- Mouchette, Hens Tooth Video

Europe (PAL)
The quality of all of the Artificial Eye VHS tapes is just below
average (poor picture, most likely because of high speed dub onto poor
tape). The Nouveaux Pictures titles are somewhat better, but still only
average.
U.K., in print:
- Les Dames du Bois de Boulogne, bfi/connoisseur (old issue, still in print)
- A Man Escaped, AE
- Au Hasard Balthazar, Nouveaux Pictures
- Mouchette, Nouveaux Pictures
- The Devil Probably, AE
- L'Argent, AE
U.K., OOP:
- Pickpocket, OOP AE
- Lancelot du Lac, OOP AE
For some reason, the AE VHS tapes of Pickpocket and Lancelot du Lac
both went OOP a couple of years ago, and that's the end of that.
Wait for the DVD releases or look for a PAL recording from the FilmFour
broadcasts (a UK digital subscription channel), which will be better quality
that the OOP AE VHS.
